FAQs

  • We recognize that for some it isn’t possible to find childcare for your infant, or that it adds additional stress. Infants are welcome in the session until they are able to move independently (as we are not set up in the office for a mobile infant and want to ensure safety). We provide a bouncy seat, extra blankets, a bottle warmer, and a nursing pillow for your comfort if you need to bring your infant to session.

  • We strive to ensure that all of our services are trauma informed. Our office is a neutral space and baby items are not kept in the space unless requested to avoid triggering experiences for those that have experienced a loss. If there are specific accommodations you would like us to make in this regard, please let your therapist know, as we want to make sure your experience is as comforting as possible.

  • We do! Please specify when booking if you would like a virtual or in-person appointment (please note that in order to provide more availability, certain therapy timeslots are only offered virtually).

  • Your therapy is as individual as you are, and your treatment is always tailored to suit your needs and goals. During your first session, your therapist will discuss what you hope to gain from therapy, and how we can best support you.

  • We do not provide parenting assessments or assessments for the purpose of legal custody proceedings.

  • Christie Orr-Brown is a registered nurse, who is licensed to discuss and educate around medication options. However, Christie is not able to prescribe or monitor medications, and this should be done through your primary healthcare provider or psychiatrist.

  • We are not able to complete direct billing at this time. You will be provided with a detailed receipt after the session which you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Please note that our therapists carry different credentials, and is the responsibility of the client to find out if your therapist is covered under your insurance plan. For group therapy clients, both therapists and their credentials appear on your receipt for services.

  • We do not provide crisis services, and can take up to three business days to return phone calls or emails. If you are in crisis or if you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please call 911 or proceed to the nearest emergency department or urgent care center. You may also contact the distress centre at 403-266-HELP (4357).

  • As we are working with vulnerable clients, we ask that you not attend your appointment if you are unwell. If you are sick and it is within 24 hours of your appointment time, we can convert your appointment to a virtual session. If it is greater than 24 hours, you may convert to an online appointment or reschedule. Please discuss any extenuating circumstances with your therapist directly.

  • You may cancel or reschedule your appointment with greater than 24 hours notice. With less than 24 hours notice you may convert to a virtual session. No-show or late cancellations may be charged the full session fee, billed to your card on file. Please discuss any extenuating circumstances directly with your therapist. Missed group sessions can not be refunded.

  • Currently both our therapists are only licensed to practice with Alberta residents.
